Rohit Sharma scored his 49th ODI century in this match, an unbeaten 74 runs from 59 balls. His innings included 6 fours and 5 sixes. Out of 74, 54 runs came from boundaries only. With this innings, Rohit Sharma added several remarkable records to his name.

The Indian skipper has now reached the second position in terms of scoring the most runs in the Asia Cup (ODIs and T20Is combined). After this innings, he has 1,101 runs in 33 matches to his name. In this list, he has surpassed Kumar Sangakkara who has 1,071 runs in 24 matches and star Indian batter Virat Kohli with 1,046 runs in 23 matches. Former Sri Lankan legend, Sanath Jayasuriya is at the top of this list with 1,220 runs.

Rohit Sharma also surpassed the god of cricket Sachin Tendulkar in terms of scoring the most fifties in the history of Asia Cup. While, Sachin Tendulkar has 9 half-centuries to his name, Rohit has now 10 under his belt.

The Indian opener also created a record in hitting most sixes as an Indian in the history of Asia Cup. He surpassed Suresh Raina who had 18 sixes and now Hitman Sharma has 22 on his name.

Skipper Rohit Sharma and his partner Shubman Gill played superbly, on the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja showed a great display of his bowling. After 1984, India has won the Asia Cup for the first time with a 10-wicket margin.
