Asia Cup 2023: Rohit Sharma And Shubman Gill Create Havoc, India Beat Nepal By 10 Wickets

Skipper Rohit Sharma and his partner Shubman Gill played superbly, on the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja showed a great display of his bowling. Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl first. Nepal scored 230 runs in 48.2 overs. This innings included a contribution of 58 runs by Asif Sheikh, 48 runs by Sompal Kami, and 38 runs by Kushal Bhurtel. Nepal had a promising start, with Sheikh and Bhurtel adding 65 runs for the first wicket. However, in the initial five overs, the Indian team were not good with their fielding and dropped three catches.

For India, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj both took 3 wickets each, while Hardik Pandya, Shardul Thakur, and Mohammed Shami managed to grab 1 wicket each.

When India was batting, the game was stopped after 2.1 overs due to rain. According to the DLS method, India got a target of 145 runs in 23 overs. Indian captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill took the team home in 20.1 overs without any loss and they had a partnership of 147 runs. Rohit scored an unbeaten 74 runs from 59 deliveries with the help of 6 fours and 5 sixes, while Shubman Gill contributed an unbeaten 67 runs from 62 balls, including 8 fours and 1 six.

With this loss, the Nepal cricket team has been officially eliminated from the tournament.
