Indian skipper Uday Saharn He shared his opinion after India were handed a defeat by Australia in the ICC under-19 World Cup final.
The Indian skipper was all praise for his teammates for showing fighting and competitive spirit throughout the tournament and further went on to say that he is proud of his boys.
Hugh Weibgen’s Australia defeated the boys in blue by a huge margin of 79 runs in the ICC under 19 world Cup finals. With just 253 runs on the board, the Australian bowlers never allowed Indian batters to settle down as they kept on picking up wickets at regular intervals.
In his post-match presentation, team India’s skipper, Uday Saharan, believes that one of the major reasons for India’s loss was a lack of partnership. He also believed that a lot of Indian batters played rash shots, which cost them their wickets.
The stalwarts of Indian batting, like Musheer Khan and Sachin Dhas, failed to light up the finals with the bat after having a phenomenal success in the tournament.
Uday Saharan said that he believes Indian batters were prepared for the finals of the tournament but failed to perform.
He believes that he and his teammates have been able to learn a lot from the coaches throughout the tournament and that they have to keep learning and move forward.
