Recently, Rohit playfully teased his teammate Ishan Kishan on his 25th birthday. Kishan, who made his Test debut in the series opener against West Indies, received a humorous comment from Rohit regarding his birthday gift.
During a press conference before the second Test match, reporters asked Rohit about the birthday gift he gave Ishan Kishan. Rohit, who led the team when Kishan made his Test debut, jokingly responded, “What birthday gift does he want? Kya chahiye bhai tereko? You have everything.”
This playful remark from Rohit drew laughter from everyone present, including Kishan. Further adding to the banter, Rohit suggested that Kishan’s gift to the team should be scoring a century in the upcoming match.
“We should ask the team about this. It should be the team’s contribution. Birthday gift tu hum logo ko dey bhai 100 run karkey (You should give us a birthday gift by scoring 100 runs),” Rohit added.
In the first Test, India displayed their dominance with commanding performances. Rohit scored his 10th century in red-ball cricket, while youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal impressed with a remarkable knock of 171 runs.
