During the fifth and the last Test match against England at Dharamsala’s Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Indian chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav delivered an outstanding bowling performance.
In his 12th Test appearance, Kuldeep accomplished the remarkable achievement of securing five or more wickets in an innings for the fourth time.
Kuldeep Yadav is now the joint-fourth bowler to reach 50 Test wickets for India in fewer matches. In his 12th match, Kuldeep has matched the feat with B.S. Chandrasekhar, Erapalli Prasanna, and Axar Patel in terms of achieving this milestone.
Not only this, Kuldeep Yadav also became the bowler to clinch the fastest 50 wickets in terms of balls. With this, he broke the record of Axar Patel who has 50 wickets in just 2205 balls, while Kuldeep did this feat in 1871 balls.
In the fifth and final Test of the ongoing five-match series between England and India in Dharamsala, England captain Ben Stokes won the toss and chose to bat first on Thursday.
Devdutt Padikkal received his maiden Test cap for India, becoming the fifth player to make his debut for the host team in the ongoing series. Before him, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel, and Akash Deep have made their debut for India in this ongoing series.
