The star all-rounder of the England Cricket Team and red-ball captain of the side, Ben Stokes has given his verdict over his participation in the upcoming ICC men’s T20 World Cup 2024. The tournament is scheduled to take place in the United States of America (USA) and the West Indies in June 2024.
Stokes is widely regarded as one of the most reliable players in international cricket and he is known for delivering exceptional performances in high-pressure situations and steering his team to victories. Over the years, he has showcased his ability to play extraordinary innings in challenging circumstances. He also showed an outstanding performance in the final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.
While speaking to the media before the fifth and final Test of the away series against India, he took a question about his participation in the T20 World Cup. He confirmed his availability for selection, expressing his willingness to represent England in the tournament if the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) decides to include him in the squad.
Ben Stokes said, “I’ve not even thought about that but I’m available [for the T20 World Cup],” Stokes said, speaking ahead of England’s fifth Test against India.”
“Whether or not I’m in the plans for that is a different thing. But I still want to be a part of that team going forward.”
