KL Rahul’s captained Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) faced their first loss in the IPL 2024 season despite scoring a competitive total of 160 runs. In this match, Delhi Capitals beat LSG by six wickets at their home ground.
Even though Lucknow Super Giants lost the match, young player Ayush Badoni played exceptionally well. His unbeaten innings of 55 runs, along with Arshad Khan’s contribution, helped the team recover from a tough situation when they were at 94/7 to reach a decent score of 167. This remarkable partnership between them raised hopes for a comeback by the Lucknow Super Giants.
After the game, Ayush Badoni thanked the team management, especially KL Rahul and coach Justin Langer for showing consistent support for him.
He mentioned that although he had a slow start to the season, his performance during practice sessions did not go unnoticed.
While speaking at the post-match press conference, Badoni said, “The season start wasn’t good for me, but I was doing well in the nets. I’m thankful to KL Rahul and Justin Langer who continued to back me.”
Ayush Badoni also revealed his relationship with his captain KL Rahul. He said that Rahul always motivates him and asks him to bat according to his full potential.
“I have many conversations with KL Rahul and he always back me. He tells me that ‘You are the best player and you can finish good’. I also share a good bond with Justin Langer. I also went to Australia last year, where Justin taught me many things and helped me improve my game.”
“I went to Australia in September where we had training with Justin Langer sponsored by Lucknow Super Giants. I was with Justin for about 7-10 days there.”
