The 17th season of the biggest cricket festival in India is all set to start on March 22, with the defending champions Chennai Super Kings taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore in Chennai.
However, ahead of the upcoming IPL season, former India opener Aakash Chopra has made a big revelation about KKR’s game plan for the upcoming IPL season.
Aakash Chopra feels that KKR will prepare spin-friendly pitches. KKR will begin their campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 23.
KKR is the team that has one of the most leathel bowling attacks. The bowling attack of KKR comprises Mitchell Starc along with prominent spinners like Sunil Narine,Varun Chakravarthy, Mujeeb ur Rehman, and Suyash Sharma.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Chopra said that KKR would prepare spin-friendly pitches in Kolkata for the upcoming IPL season. KKR finished 7th on the points table in the previous edition of the IPL.
Chopra said, “As soon as I think about spin, I don’t know why, but my mind goes towards Kolkata. Kolkata’s strategy will be to make spin-friendly pitches. They have Sunil Narine, who always plays in the XI. He is not a wicket-taker; it’s not that he takes four-wicket hauls, but he is always economical.”.
Speaking on Varun Chakravarthy, Chopra said that Varun Chakravarthy is the bowler who has been doing exceptionally well in the IPL. Varun had a phenomenal IPL with the ball as the mystery spinner went on to pick 20 wickets in the previous IPL season.

Chopra said, “After that, they have an amazing bowler in Varun Chakravarthy whose stature grew suddenly last year, and he was absolutely stellar. Then they have Suyash Sharma. So these are three frontline spinners who will play in the XI for sure.”.
