Kieron Pollard, the former West Indies captain, commented on Rohit Sharma’s Test retirement. He thinks Sharma, who’s done a lot in his career, knows what’s best for him. Pollard also said that Sharma’s satisfaction with his own performance will always push him forward.
Sharma announced his retirement from Test cricket this May, ending an impressive run. He will still lead India in ODIs.
Pollard told ANI, It’s his choice, and he must have his reasons. Someone with his achievements knows what he wants. He takes pride in how he plays, and that won’t change.”
Pollard added, He’s still playing for India in the 50-over matches. I think he’ll still be eager to score runs. He’ll want to play well.”
Pollard also said he’s happy to see his old teammates and friends at the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025. He’s excited to compete again.
Pollard told ANI, It’s great to see teammates and friends you don’t see every day. Competing again is wonderful, and we’re looking forward to it.”
Ajay Sethi, owner of the West Indies Champions Team, praised his players, noting their success in the IPL and T20 games. He mentioned their win against England and said he’s confident about their next game against Pakistan.
Sethi told ANI, They’re top IPL and T20 players, their results speak for themselves. This is my best team, and they’re playing well. They won against England, and we have a big game tomorrow against Pakistan. I’m confident we’ll play well and win.”
West Indies Champions will play Pakistan Champions in the 11th Match of WCL 2025 in Leeds on Saturday.
