The Delhi Capitals finally got off the mark as they defeated the Chennai Super Kings. It was the left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed who rose to occasion for the capitals, as the pacer picked up two wickets, giving away just 21 runs in his four overs.
The pacer was awarded Man of the Match for his exceptional performance with the ball. After his heroics with the ball, Khaleel believes that he still has a dream to play for India, and all this performance will pave his way back into the Indian team.
Khaleel Ahmed was last seen playing for India in 2019. The pacer was dropped after a series of low performances with the ball. Khaleel Ahmed picked up 13 wickets in 14 matches. Apart from this, he played 11 ODIs, picking up 15 wickets.
Khaleel Ahmed was spot on with the ball against CSK as the left-arm pacer removed Ravindra and Ruturaj Gaikwad to derail CSK’s chase.
In his post-match presentation, Khaleel Ahmed said, “Of course! The ultimate goal is to get back on the Indian team. It’s definitely the goal of mine. Kindly keep me blessed in the same way.”
Khaleel Ahmed further added, “Yes, sir! It’s all because of my consistent hard work at the domestic level. I have played a lot of matches in the last six months, which has helped me know my game better. I have worked hard to swing the ball, and now I am getting results for it.”
Speaking about his preparation, Khaleel Ahmed said, “I feel really happy when the ball swings and the batters get beaten. I have tried to figure out how I can keep myself fit. The red-ball game teaches you a lot about how the ball is coming out of the hand.”
