Karun Nair’s Heroics In Ranji Trophy Final Reignite Hopes Of India Comeback

Team India and Vidarbha star batter Karun Nair, who returned to domestic cricket after skipping the previous season, said that it was quite challenging to stay at home and see others play.

Karun Nair, who joined Vidarbha ahead of the ongoing domestic season, will finish the Ranji Trophy as the leading run scorer for his team.

Nair played a gusty knock of 74 in which he faced 220 deliveries. Speaking of his knock, Nair said, “I think I have batted pretty well. I have runs in all formats. I could have gone better in all formats, but having said that, at least this season I have gotten quite a few runs, starting from playing a few games in the County Championship.”

Nair further stated thatI started getting runs there, and that gave me a lot of confidence. If I could score runs at The Oval and score a 150 when the conditions are much tougher to play, that gave me a lot of confidence before I came over here,” he said.

“I didn’t play for a year, so that was quite hard. I don’t know what to say, but it was obviously hard to sit at home and watch others play.”

The star batter has played six test matches for Team India and is still very hopeful of making a comeback in India’s test set-up. Nair said,One hundred percent, I think I can come back.
