Currently, England is playing seven T20I match series against Pakistan. Four matches have already been played between the teams, and the series is at level(2-2). Moeen Ali is leading the England side on this tour, while English team white ball skipper Jos Buttler is still recovering from a calf injury as he got injured during domestic cricket match in England. The last time he led the English team in T20I against South Africa was in July 2022.
England team coach Matthew Mott speaks about the condition of Jos Buttler injury and indicates he might miss all the T20I matches against Pakistan. Team management is taking all precautionary measurement for their charismatic batter and looking forward, towards his recovery for the upcoming T20 world cup 2022.
“He’s not a player we want to take a risk at this stage, so close to a T20 World Cup, and it was a reasonably significant injury that he had. He’s champing at the bit for a game, but we’ll try and see how we go. Maybe in the last game or two, he might have a chance.” Said Matthew Mott.
“We couldn’t ask for better preparation than games against Pakistan, where it’s all on the line with a couple of overs to go, and players are under pressure. To play in high-pressure situations before a big crowd right into the game. Yes, we would love to have won, but when you head into a World Cup, you want to play against good opposition in tough games, and it’s been every bit of that,” added Matthew Mott.

Jos Buttler is a crucial player for the English team in the forthcoming mega event on Australian soil, and he was the fourth leading run scorer in the previous season of the T20 World Cup. His performance in the IPL 2022 was outstanding. He had scored 863 runs with four centuries and four fifties. If Buttler misses all the matches against Pakistan, he will definitely play four warm-up games just before the opening match of the T20 World Cup to get self-assurance in his batting. It will be exciting to see whether he and his teammates will able to lift the trophy after 2010.
