“It’s illegal…”Wasim Akram gives a shocking statement on high score in IPL

The IPL 2024 has been a paradise for the batters. In every match, a new batting record is being made in this season of the IPL.
Sunrisers Hyderabad has been the frontrunner in making high scores this season.

Speaking about the high scores in the IPL, Pakistan’s ex-great Wasim Akram makes an interesting comment on the same.

In his interaction with Sportskeeda, Wasim Akram said, “Scoring 100 in five overs is illegal. Even if you bowl a full toss, that can’t happen. You are paying the bowlers to get hit. I do feel for the bowlers in this format. But it is what it is. Bowlers have to think outside the box. Scoring 100 in five overs is unreal.”
Wasim Akram also shared his views on Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Talking about Sunrisers Hyderabad Wasim Akram said, “We all love Australians and the way they play. Who says a fast bowler can lead well? It was a different matter when Pakistan made a fast bowler a captain (Shaheen Afridi). Then SRH has Travis Head, another dangerous player. In any league, there is no more fearsome batting unit than SRH’s. Heinrich Klaasen is one of my favorite players in T20 cricket. He can hit sixes on any ball. Abdul Samad is a great finisher. That is the reason why SRH is at No. 2. Pat Cummins’ captaincy has calmed the team.

Akram further added, “Scoring 270 plus is just too much. It’s like scoring 500 in a 50-over game. Thank God I am not bowling. It shows how cricket has changed. Boundaries are less, but grounds have been the same for 30 years. Hitting and abtting have changed.”
