Ishan Kishan Pulls Out From The South Africa Test Due To Mental Fatigue, BCCI Announces Replacement

According to the latest report, Indian cricketer Ishan Kishan has decided to withdraw from the upcoming Test series against South Africa citing mental fatigue. The 25-year-old has been on constant travel with the Indian team throughout the past year but has not consistently featured in any of the formats.

Ishan Kishan was initially selected in the Indian squad for the two-match Test series against South Africa, commencing with the Boxing Day Test at SuperSport Park in Centurion on December 26. However, on December 17, the BCCI issued a press release indicating that the cricketer had been removed from the Test squad. This decision came after Kishan requested to be released.

According to a report in the Indian Express, the wicketkeeper-batsman requested the Indian team management last week in South Africa to grant him a break due to continuous cricket over the past year.

The source said, “He informed the team management that he is having mental fatigue and wants a break from cricket for some time. Everyone agreed to it.”

KS Bharat has been picked as the replacement of Ishan Kishan.

From the beginning of 2023, Ishan Kishan has participated in two Tests, 17 ODIs, and 11 T20Is. Despite this involvement, he has been part of nearly every series that India has played since the start of the year.
