India will face Sri Lanka in the first ODI of the three-match ODI series in Guwahati on January 10. The match will see the return of Indian captain Rohit Sharma along with the Indian batting star Virat Kohli and KL Rahul.
Captain Rohit held a press conference this evening where he updated the playing XI and also confirmed that Ishan Kishan will not be there in the playing XI in the first ODI. Rohit has confirmed that Shubman Gill will be opening the innings with him.
It is worth mentioning that Ishan Kishan slammed a gigantic double-century in the third ODI against Bangladesh.
On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah is set to miss the entire ODI series as per the reports of BCCI. It is being said that Bumrah felt stiffness while bowling in the nets and team India do not want to take any risk with the bowler.
India has already clinched the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka 2-0 and now they will look to perform the same in ODI as well.
