The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced India A squad for the upcoming Emerging Women’s Asia Cup, set to take place in Hong Kong from June 12 to June 21. This tournament will feature eight teams, divided into two groups: Group A and Group B.

Group A comprises India A, Hong Kong, Thailand A, and Pakistan A, while Group B includes Bangladesh A, Sri Lanka A, Malaysia, and the United Arab Emirates. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals.

India A’s campaign will kick off with a match against Hong Kong at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground on June 13. The team will be led by Shweta Sehrawat, who played a pivotal role in India’s triumph at the 2023 ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa.

India A squad also includes talented players such as Soumya Tiwari, Gongadi Trisha, Titas Sadhu, Parshavi Chopra, and Mannat Kashyap. These young cricketers have shown great potential and will be eager to make their mark in this tournament.

The BCCI selectors have taken into consideration the performances of Kanika Ahuja and Shreyanka Patil in the 2023 Women’s Premier League (WPL). Ahuja impressed with her batting skills while representing Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), while Patil showcased her bowling prowess.
