Is Another Captain From An IPL Ex-Champion Team About To Suffer The Axe?

The 17th season of the Indian Premier League is all set to take center stage in less than a month’s time. All the teams are getting ready to tussle against each other for ultimate
glory.

However, ahead of the 17th season of the IPL, as per the report, another captain is on the verge of losing his captaincy before the upcoming IPL season.

As per the latest buzz, Aiden Markram is all set to be replaced by Pat Cummins as the new captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad before the upcoming IPL season.

The report suggested that Pat Cummins had phenomenal success as the captain of Australia in the past, as Australia went on to win the World Test Championship as well as the One Day World Cup under his captaincy.

If this happens, Aiden Markram would be the second captain after Rohit Sharma, who has been replaced by another player as the skipper of the franchise. Previously, Hardik Pandya replaced Rohit Sharma as the captain of the Mumbai Indians.

On the other hand, James Franklin is most likely to replace Dale Steyn as the new bowling coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Dale Steyn was appointed as the bowling coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2022 and has requested that the franchise give him some time off, citing personal reasons.

James Franklin has played for the Mumbai Indians in the past; he was with the team first in 2012 and then again in 2021.

Franklin will be coaching for the first time in the IPL; however, he has coached Islamabad United in the PSL. At SRH, Franklin will be working closely with his former teammate Daniel Vettori, who has been appointed as the team’s new head coach.

Franklin has played 110 ODIs, 38 t-20, and 31 tests for New Zealand.
