Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan showcased his wit and class in responding to a Pakistani miscreant who attempted to mock him after India A’s loss in the final of the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 against Pakistan A.
The final of the tournament saw Pakistan A delivering a dominant performance, inflicting a crushing 128-run defeat on India A. Pakistan A set an imposing total of 352 for 8 in 50 overs, with Tayyab Tahir’s brilliant century being the highlight of their innings. In response, India A could only manage 224 before being bowled out in 40 overs, with Abhishek Sharma scoring 61.
In the aftermath of the final, some Pakistani cricket fans took to taunting their Indian counterparts, and one individual even created a fake account in Irfan Pathan’s name to mock India. The fake tweet aimed to seek revenge for a viral tweet that Irfan Pathan had posted after India’s exit from the T20 World Cup 2022.
During the T20 World Cup, when Pakistan fans had trolled Irfan Pathan after India’s loss to England in the semifinal, the former cricketer responded gracefully, stating that they lacked grace in their behavior.
Irfan Pathan maintained his dignity and humor in response to the fake tweet congratulating Pakistan on their win.
He tweeted back, “Great sense of humor. But my Sunday was fantastic, enjoyed it. Congratulations Pakistan. Better team on the day. Chin up team India. Every day is a new day!”
