IPL 2023: Yashasvi Jaiswal Broke 15-Year-Old Record Of IPL By Scoring Half-Century Against Punjab Kings

Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a half-century in the match played at Dharamshala. He contributed significantly with the bat against the Punjab Kings and helped Rajasthan secure the win.

This was Jaiswal’s fifth half-century of this season, which he completed in 35 balls. During this, he created history in IPL. Yashasvi Jaiswal has become the highest run scorer in a season as an uncapped player.

While chasing 188 runs against Punjab Kings, the performance of left-handed batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal of Rajasthan Royals was excellent. He achieved a new milestone by scoring fifty in the match. Yashasvi Jaiswal created history by breaking a 15-year-old record in IPL. Yashasvi Jaiswal has become the uncapped player who has scored the most runs in a single season of IPL.

This season, he has scored 702 runs while playing 14 matches. Earlier, this feat was achieved by Punjab Kings batsman Shaun Marsh who scored 616 runs in the first season of IPL in 2008. In such a situation, after 15 years, Yashasvi Jaiswal broke the old record of IPL. Seeing this wonder of his, he is believed to soon get an entry into Team India.

Talking about the match, Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson won the toss and decided to bowl. Punjab scored 187 runs for five wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Rajasthan scored 189 runs for six wickets in 19.4 overs. Devdutt Padikkal scored the highest 51 runs for Rajasthan. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 50, and Shimron Hetmyer scored 46 runs. Riyan Parag scored 20 off 12 balls, and Dhruv Jurel scored 10 runs on just four balls.
