IPL 2023: Will Jofra Archer Play The Entire Season For Mumbai Indians Or Not? ECB Gives An Update

Mumbai Indians got a setback yesterday( February 28) when the team’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah was said to be officially ruled out from the IPL 2023 due to his serious back injury. The bowler was out from cricket for five months and currently, he is recovering well under the medical team of BCCI at the National Cricket Academy.However, the disappointment of fans will seem a bit less as the star pacer of England Jofra Archer who has been out from the cricketer for almost one year has confirmed his availability for Mumbai Indians.Jofra Archer, the English fast bowler who suffered from injuries earlier, has been given the go-ahead to play the entire season.Officials of the England and Wales Cricket Board have talked to Cricbuzz and said, “He should be able to play a full part in the IPL and as always his franchisee and the ECB will manage his workload.”While giving his statement on IPL, the source said, “Jofra is very much available, have you not seen him in action in the Dhaka ODI.”Despite knowing that English bowler Archer, who was born in Barbados, wouldn’t be available for the season, Mumbai Indians invested money in him by purchasing him for Rs 8 crore in the 2022 mega auction.Archer did not play competitive cricket for almost 18 months from 2021 to 2022. At the SA20 in January, he participated in his first significant competitive game with MI Cape Town, a completely separate entity of the Mumbai Indians management.
