Former Indian Captain Sourav Ganguly has praised the current skipper of Chennai Super Kings for his brilliant captaincy in the ongoing season of IPL 2023. It was Dhoni’s brilliant captaincy that Chennai Super Kings is playing its 10th IPL final.
In the Qualifier match, Chennai Super Kings chose to bat first and received contributions from Ruturaj Gaikwad (60), Devon Conway (40), and some useful cameos from the middle-order. By this, Chennai posted a competitive total of 172. When CSK took the field to defend their score, MS Dhoni’s remarkable choices in bowling and strategic field placements limited Gujarat’s batting line-up to 157, and Chennai won this match by 15 runs.
Sourav Ganguly showered praise on MS Dhoni, and the Chennai Super Kings reached their 10th final in the 14 seasons they have played so far. Ganguly also highlighted the emergence of exciting new players during this IPL season, such as Rinku Singh, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Dhruv Jurel, emphasizing their captivating performances.
While talking to Hindustan Times, Ganguly said, “Chennai Super Kings and MS Dhoni have been fantastic. They have shown how to win big matches. Dhoni has been remarkable in his captaincy. He has shown how to win big matches.”
The former BCCI president further added, “Rinku Singh has played well, Dhruv Jurel has played well, and Yashasvi Jaiswal also did well. Jitesh ( Sharma) played well for Punjab Kings. Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma have played well. The IPL is a huge Tournament, and they have done exceptionally well.”
