In the 37th match of Indian Premier League 2023, Rajasthan Royals beat Chennai Super Kings by 32 runs at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. With this win, CSK has slipped down to third spot while Rajasthan Royals has gained the top position.
In this match while batting first, Rajasthan Royals scored 202 runs at the loss of five wickets in alloted 20 overs. For Rajasthan, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored the maximum 77 runs in just 43 balls. Apart from him, Dhruv Jorel got 34 runs while Jos Buttler and Devdutt Padikkal got 27 runs each.
For CSK, Tushar Deshpande got the maximum two wickets while M Theekshana and Ravindra Jadeja got one wicket each.
While chasing the target of 203 runs, CSK got a slow start and Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad failed to accelerate in starting overs. CSK kept losing wickets in pressure and at the end they only got 170 runs at the loss of 6 wickets.
All-rounder Shivam Dube got the maximum 52 runs for the team in just 33 balls. Apart from him, Gaikwad also managed to get 47 runs. At the end, CSK fell short 32 runs from their designated target.
For Rajasthan Royals, Adam Zampa got three wickets while R Ashwin got two.
For the brilliant 77-run knock, Yashasvi Jaiswal received the player of the match award.
