The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League is just three days away and all the teams want to leave no stone unturned to give a blistering start to their IPL campaign. Some teams are struggling due to injuries of their key players and they are finding their replacements for upcoming seasons.
Meanwhile, on Monday, March 27, the last year’s runner-up Rajasthan Royals announced Sandeep Sharma as the replacement for Prasidh Krishna who will miss this entire season due to injury.
Krishna had an excellent season in the 2022 Indian Premier League but has been ruled out of the upcoming season due to a lumbar stress fracture. With his exit from the team, a door was opened for Sandeep Sharma who has experienced 104 matches.
During his 10-year-long career, the 29-year-old Sandeep Sharma has taken a total of 114 wickets with an average of 26.33. He came to the limelight in 2014 when he claimed 18 wickets with an average of 19.66, and his contribution played a vital role in helping Punjab Kings reach the final.
It was a great session for Rajasthan Royals last year when they reached the finals of the IPL after a span of 14 years. However, they lost to Gujarat Titans in the decider. As usual, the team will be captained by Sanju Samson with a bunch of experienced players like Jos Buttler, R Ashwin, Chahal, and Trent Boult. Rajasthan Royals will face Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 2 in Hyderabad.
