In the 65th match of IPL 2023, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated SRH by eight wickets to keep their playoff hopes alive. Both Virat Kohli and Heinrich Klaasen scored a century in this match and after the match the batter from the winning side expressed his strong bond with captain Faf du Plessis.
Kohli shared the enjoyable experience of batting together with Plessis in the IPL for the past two years. Kohli made this statement after his remarkable 172-run partnership with Du Plessis, which played a pivotal role in Royal Challengers Bangalore’s convincing 8-wicket victory over SunRisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad.
Virat Kohli further added that he is enjoying batting with Faf in the middle, the way he used to enjoy with the former RCB legend Ab De Villiers’s company.
The 172-run stand between Faf Du Plessis and Virat Kohli was the third 100 hundred plus opening partnership between the two batters.
AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli have established a remarkable record in the IPL. They hold the record for the highest number of runs in partnership. They have added a total of 3123 runs in 76 innings together. They have done 10 hundred plus stands together.
“It is just amazing to bat with Faf we’ve got around 900 (1116) runs this season together. I enjoy batting with him just as I enjoyed with AB,” Kohli said on Thursday.
“There was just an understanding of where the game is going and what needs to be done. We pump each other and give each other feedback on how we can play certain bowlers. It’s a beautiful transition for us to come at the top for RCB and make an impact which is so important,” he added.
