The former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan who is known for his warm gesture to youngsters has now sent a message for Yash Dayal, the bowler of Gujarat Titans who was smacked by Rinku Six for five consecutive sixes in the last over to win an impossible six.
In the 14th match of Indian Premier League 2023, KKR beat Punjab Kings by 3 wickets, thanks to the brilliant hitting by Rinku Singh who stood alone for the KKR. With 29 runs needed in the last over, Rinku showed great temperament and smashed Yash Dayal all around the park to clinch an impossible victory.
Irfan Pathan encouraged Dayal to stay strong and get out through difficult times as it is the only way to overcome this. He advised Dayal to forget the match against KKR and focus on the next game.
“Hey Yash Dayal buddy forget about today’s game like you forget about the Good days on the field to move on to the next one. If you stay strong, you will be able to turn things around,” Pathan tweeted.
The left-handed batter scored 43 runs off just 21 balls with the help of four and six sixes. With these innings, he breaks a huge record of the former Indian captain Mahendra Singh who is also currently leading the men in yellow- Chennai Super Kings. Rinku has registered his name for scoring the most number of runs in the 20th over of IPL in a winning cause.
Before it, Gujarat Lions won the toss and decided to bat first. They scored 204 runs with a loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. This is the first time they have scored 200 or more runs in the IPL. For Gujarat, Sai Sudarshan scored his second consecutive half-century making 53 runs off 38 balls. Vijay Shankar played a blistering inning of unbeaten 63 runs with the help of four fours and five sixes off just 24 balls.
