IPL 2023: Chris Gayle Predicts 4 Teams To Qualify For The Playoffs, Opines On The Qualification Scenario

The T20 legend and one of the most devastating batters in the history of T20 cricket, Chris Gayle has put in his thoughts on the qualification scenario of the team in the playoffs of IPL 2023.

The former West Indian veteran said that Royal Challengers Bangalore have a better chance of entering into the playoffs than Punjab as they have two games now. Let us tell you that Faf du Plessis captained RCB will play their next match against Sunrisers Hyderabad which is also their second last of the season.

After 13 games, Shikhar Dhawan’s team has now 12 points only and they are more or less out of the race for the playoffs. They lost their last match against Delhi Capitals by 15 runs. Now Punjab has their next game against Rajasthan Royals on May 19 and it would just be a formality.

While discussing with Graeme Swann on Jio Cinema, Gayle said,”Royal Challengers Bangalore have a better chance of qualifying as they have two games remaining. If they win their two games, they will see themselves in the top four. Punjab, I don’t think that they are going to qualify. I do not see them qualifying. But in cricket, nobody should write anyone off but KKR are going to be missing out as well.”

After the statement of Gayle, the former England spinner took a jab at Universal Boss and said that if Gayle had been there in Punjab Kings it could have qualified for the playoffs.
