IPL 2023: Captain Hardik Pandya Blamed This Player For Losing The Match Against Delhi Capitals

The 44th match of IPL 2023 was very exciting, or one can say that Gujarat Titans made this match exciting. In this match played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the Gujarat batters batted very slowly to achieve an easy target. And visiting team, Delhi Capitals, won the match by 5 runs. In this match, Delhi won the toss and decided to bat first.

Gujarat fast bowler Mohammed Shami bowled brilliantly in the first innings. Shami dismissed 4 important batters for 11 runs in four overs. However, Aman Khan from Delhi scored a brilliant 51 off 44 balls. Due to the half-century innings of Aman Khan, the Delhi team was able to score 130 runs.

At the same time, Gujarat’s batting in the second innings also looked ordinary; apart from Hardik Pandya, no batsman batted as expected. Hardik scored 59 off 53 balls. But he did not get support from any other batsmen. Hardik stood at one end till the last over but failed to win the match.

After the match, Hardik said, “Chasing 130 is not difficult, but we lost wickets initially. Tewatia got us back in the game by hitting some big shots, but I take responsibility for the loss, which I could not finish the match.”

He further said, “I feel bad for Shami because the pitch was not helping fast bowlers much, but still, Shami played a key role in stopping such a low score. We will try to improve on our mistakes. Will do that but also try to move on because we have won matches from such turns many times.”
