In the 38th match of the Indian Premier League, Lucknow Super Giants beat Punjab Kings by a huge margin of 56 runs. After this win, LSG jumped to the second spot in the IPL points table with 10 points in 8 matches. However, even after his win, now Lucknow Super Giants have come in trouble as their star all-rounder Marcus Stonis will go for a scan due to his injured finger.
During the match against Punjab Kings, Marcus Stoinis exhibited exceptional batting skills where he scored 72 runs off only 40 deliveries. Additionally, he took the crucial wicket of Shikhar Dhawan and for his brilliant performance he was awarded the Player of the Match.
While bowling his second over, Marcus Stoinis was hit on his left index finger while attempting to intercept Atharva Taide’s shot. As a result, he had to leave the field immediately and he appeared to be in severe pain, and after that the medical team of LSG arrived for the all-rounder. As the match ends, Stoinis disclosed that his finger was feeling better but he would undergo further scans to assess the extent of the injury.
While talking to the post-match presentation, Stoinis said, “It’s been better but yeah, it is what it is. We will get a scan later.”
Marcus Stonis put up an 89-run quick partnership with Ayush Badoni and helped the team to reach a total of 257 runs.
While chasing the target, Punjab Kings could not only reach 201 runs and they were bundled out in 19.5 overs. For Punjab, Atharva Taide scored the maximum 66 runs but it was not enough to give a win to Punjab.
