IPL 2023: After Jasprit Bumrah Now This Star MI Player Ruled Out From The Tournament

After Jasprit Bumrah, Mumbai Indians have got another setback before the start of the IPL 2023. The Australian fast bowler Jhye Richardson will not be able to play for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL 2023 season as he has undergone surgery to address his recurring hamstring problems. Richardson has been excluded from the upcoming ODI series against India due to his injury.

On Twitter, Richardson shared a picture of himself in the hospital and expressed his disappointment with the recurring injuries. However, he also recognized that surgery and a prolonged period of recovery were the most effective means of addressing his injury issues.

Richardson tweeted the photo and wrote, “Injuries are a big part of cricket, that’s a fact. Frustrating? Absolutely. But I’m now in a scenario where I can get back to doing what I love and work bloody hard to become an even better player than before. One step back, two steps forward. Let’s do this.”

Before Richardson, Jasprit Bumrah was already ruled out from the tournament due to a back injury. Bumrah is out from team India for 5 months and he has missed the major tournament due to his back issue. Bumrah was not part of the Asia Cup 2022 and the T20 World Cup held in Australia was the major one.

Mumbai is yet to announce any replacement both for Richardson and Bumrah. However, they have a sigh of relief as Jofra Archer is making his comeback in the IPL nearly after two years. The bowler missed the tournament last year but MI bought him in the mega Auction.
