IPL 2023: 27 Fours and 14 Sixes, LSG Registers The 2nd Highest Score Of IPL History After RCB

In the 38th match of the Indian Premier League, Lucknow Super Giants batters took charge against the bowlers of Punjab Kings and registered the second-highest total by a team in the history of IPL. While batting first after losing the toss, LSG scored 257 runs at the loss of five wickets in all 20 overs.

LSG had a great start against the PBKS and KL Rahul along with his opening partner Kyle Mayers added 41 runs for the first wicket. Rahul departed after scoring 12 runs. Kyle Mayers scored 54 runs in 24 balls with the help of seven four and four sixes. After that, Ayush Badoni carried the team’s momentum with Marcus Stoinis and scored 43 runs in just 24 balls with the help of three fours and three sixes.

Marcus Stonis proved to be the highest run-getter for the Lucknow Super Giants team and scored 72 runs in 40 balls and smashed six fours and five sixes. Nicholas Pooran also showed good hands with the bat and just took 19 balls to score 45 runs with 7 fours and one six.

Altogether, the LSG team smashed 27 fours and 14 sixes. Royal Challengers Bangalore team holds the record for the most runs in a single IPL innings. In 2013, RCB scored 263 runs at the loss of five wickets against Pune Warriors India.  Before LSG, the second-best also belonged to RCB with 248 runs which they had scored against Gujarat Lions in 2016.
