Breaking News: Another Major Setback For KKR, Star Opener Batter Went Home In Mid-Way Of IPL

The 2-time champions of Indian Premier League Kolkata Knight Riders suffered a major setback before the match against Gujarat Titans.

Bangladesh’s veteran wicket-keeper batsman Litton Das has returned home due to a family emergency, and now there is little hope of him being available for the upcoming matches of the Indian Premier League for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). This is because the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had issued him a no-objection certificate till May 4.

A KKR team official said, “There was a medical emergency in his family due to which he left for Dhaka this morning. There is no information about when he will return.”

This 28-year-old wicket-keeper batsman was bought by KKR in the auction last year for his base price of Rs 50 lakh. He played only one match in IPL against Delhi Capitals.

Opening the innings with Jason Roy, Liton Das scored only four runs in the match against Delhi Capitals and missed two stumping opportunities as a wicket-keeper. Delhi won this match by four wickets and broke the streak of losing in five consecutive matches. Liton came to India much later to play in IPL 2023 as he was with the national team on the tour of Ireland then. Now he is expected to play in the upcoming 3-match ODI series against Ireland.

Earlier, before the start of IPL, Kolkata Knight Riders got a big blow in the form of Shakib Al Hasan. Bangladesh’s star all-rounder Shakib withdrew his name from the 16th edition of the IPL. KKR included England opener Jason Roy in his place. Jason Roy is performing brilliantly at the moment. He has scored 2 consecutive half-centuries this season.
