Indian spinner R. Ashwin Surpassed Former Indian Skipper Kapil Dev To Achieved This Mammoth Milestone

India’s experienced off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin achieved a huge feat on the second day of the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. Ashwin took three wickets on the second day of the Indore Test against Australia.

With this, he broke the record of the great Kapil Dev. Ravichandran Ashwin has become the third Indian bowler to take the most wickets in international cricket. Ashwin has taken 689 wickets in 269 matches and surpassed Kapil Dev, who took 687 wickets in 356 matches.

Former Indian skipper and magical leg-spinner Anil Kumble holds the record for taking the most wickets for India in international cricket. Anil Kumble, known as Jumbo, has taken 953 wickets in 401 international matches. Former veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh occupies the second place in this list. Bhajji has taken 707 wickets in 365 matches.

Chennai-born star off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has taken 466 wickets in 91 Tests so far. He has bagged 151 wickets in 113 ODIs and 72 wickets in 65 T20 Internationals. Ashwin has recently topped the bowling rankings in ICC Tests. He left behind 40-year-old James Anderson last week.
