Indian Selectors Sridharan Sharath Breaks Silence On Not Picking Sarfaraz Khan In Test Squad

The most in-form batter in the domestic format Sarfaraz Khan is recently trending on every social media platform by his fans because he was snubbed from the upcoming first two test matches against Australia. However, Indian selectors have picked Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan; both the batters have performed really amazing with the ball, but the Selectors sidelined the domestic cricket “run-machine” Sarfaraz.

Talking to a media house, National team selector Sridharan Sharath was asked about the reason behind ignoring Sarfaraz Khan from the Indian team test squad. Sharath praised the veteran cricketer and also added that young stars are doing well and we are in touch with them. Young star cricketers will also get the chance to consider everything like; the composition and balance of the team.

“Kohli is still a match-winner. Cheteshwar Pujara brings stability to batting. Rohit Sharma is an excellent leader and a fabulous bat. Shreyas Iyer has been consistent. Shubhman Gill and K.L. Rahul have the genuine ability,” Sharath said.

“He is certainly on our radar. In due course, he will get his due. While picking the team, we have to consider things like composition and balance,” explained Sarfaraz’s omission from the team’s squad.

The Indian team for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy has been announced, and in this team, Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan are the new players for the red ball format. However, the fans Sarfaraz and cricket experts are assuming he will get a chance for the other two test matches against the Kangaroos. However, the upcoming test series is really important for the Indian towards World Test Championship 2021-23, and that’s why they don’t want to take any risk.
