Indian all rounder gets ruled out of the Anderson Tendulkar trophy

Nitish Kumar Reddy, the Indian all-rounder, will probably miss the rest of the England tour. This hurts the team, especially before the Manchester Test on July 23. Pacers Arshdeep Singh and Akash Deep might also be out due to training injuries at Old Trafford.

NDTV sources say Reddy is out for the rest of the tour because he hurt his knee in the gym. Scans showed a ligament tear.

Reddy played in two games after missing the first one in Leeds, but didn’t play well. In the second Test at Edbaston, he only scored one run in each inning and didn’t get any wickets. In the third Test at Lord’s, he scored 43 runs over both innings and took three wickets.

Sources also said that Reddy, along with Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah, and Washington Sundar, didn’t practice on Sunday.

On Sunday, the Indian players and head coach Gautam Gambhir visited Manchester United’s training ground and met their players. Rishabh Pant, the vice-captain, gave Bruno Fernandes, the Manchester United captain, a signed bat. Mohammed Siraj even bowled to Harry Maguire, a Manchester United defender, but Reddy wasn’t there.

Anshul Kamboj has joined the team to replace Reddy. He was seen with the rest of the team when they met Fernandes and the others.

In the Lord’s Test, Mohammed Siraj was unfortunately dismissed by Shoaib Bashir. The ball hit the pitch and rolled back into the stumps, ending India’s resistance. Ravindra Jadeja was left stranded as India lost by 22 runs.

India lost that match even though they played better than England for most of the time. Jasprit Bumrah performed very well, taking seven wickets, including five in the first inning.
