Star Indian pacer Mohammed Shami shined all through the match against Sri Lanka. The Indian pacer got five wickets in the match and registered his name into history.

After the match, Shami’s bowling figure reads as 18/5 in just five overs. With this now Shami has the most five-wicket hauls for India in the One Day Internationals. Shami has achieved this milestone four times that too in just 96 innings. Harbhajan Singh is second on the list doing this feat three times, while Javagar Srinath also stands with Harbhajan.

In this match, while batting first, India set a huge target of 357 runs, which they made at the loss of eight wickets in 50 overs. For men in blue, Shubman Gill scored the maximum 92 runs which includes eleven fours and two sixes. Virat Kohli also scored 88 runs with the help of eleven fours. Then Shreyas Iyer played a quick knock of 82 runs in just 56 balls with the help of three fours and six maximums.

For Sri Lanka, Dilshan Madushanka grabbed the highest five wickets. Dushmantha Chameera got one wicket.

While chasing the target of 358 runs, Sri Lanka lost their wickets at regular intervals and the team was bundled out on 55 runs in 19.4 overs. For them, Kasun Rajitha scored the highest 14 runs while Anjelo Mathews and Mahesh Theekshana got 12 runs each.

From India, it was again Mohammed Shami who broke the backbone of the Sri Lankan batting lineup and got five wickets. Mohammed Siraj got three wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja managed to get one wicket each.
