In the third match of the super-4 stage of Asia Cup 2023, Indian batters shined heavily with the bat on the reserve day of the game. In this match, India posted a total of 356 runs at the loss of two wickets in alloted 50 overs.
For India star Indian batter Virat Kohli and wicket-keeper batter KL Rahul smashed solid centuries to their name. Kohli scored 122 runs off 94 balls which consists of 9 fours and 3 sixes. On the other hand, KL Rahul got 111 runs in 106 deliveries which includes 12 fours and two sixes.
This inning will really give a boost to KL Rahul who is making his comeback to international cricket after April. The batter got injured during the IPL 2023 and he has been there at National Cricket Academy(NCA) for his rehab.
Before it, Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill gave a flying start on the scheduled day of the match which was September 10(Sunday). Gill aggressively scored 58 runs from 52 balls for India as they posted a total of 147/2 in 24.1 overs. The game, which began with India batting first at the R Premadasa Stadium on Sunday, September 10, was interrupted by rain.
For Pakistan Shaheen Afridi and Shadab Khan managed to get one-one wicket each.
