IND vs ENG, 3rd Test: This England Cricketer Stopped At Rajkot Airport Over Wrong Visa

After Shoaib Bashir’s visa challenges before the India tour, England spinner Rehan Ahmed faced the same situation while traveling to Rajkot from their mid-series break in Abu Dhabi before the 3rd Test against India. The wrist-spinner faced a two-hour delay at Rajkot Airport on Monday, February 12.

The young spinner possessed a single-entry visa for India, resulting in authorities preventing his travel back from the UAE for the second time within 30 days.

Rehan encountered issues for more than two hours due to an error in visa processing. Nevertheless, authorities devised a temporary solution by issuing him a two-day emergency visa. The England Cricket Board (ECB) maintains a positive outlook, expecting the situation to be completely resolved within the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Bashir faced delays in obtaining the Indian visa promptly, attributed to his Pakistani heritage. He found himself stranded in Abu Dhabi. To resolve the matter, he returned to England from Abu Dhabi, causing him to miss the 1st Test.

The first Test between India and England was won by the visitors by 28 runs in Hyderabad. Rohit Sharm and company made a huge comeback in the second Test played at Visakhapatnam. They secured a 106-run victory and leveled the series 1-1.
