IND vs AUS: Star Pacer Jasprit Bumrah Joins The Team Before The Third ODI, Axar Patel Remains Unavailable

According to some inside reports, the star speedster from team India Jasprit Bumrah will make his return for the third ODI against Australia after taking a one-match break. However, all-rounder Axar Patel who is nursing a quadricep tear will take some time to recovery from the Injury.

Despite Ravichandran Ashwin’s respectable performance in his two recent appearances, the team management maintains a positive outlook regarding the fitness of Axar Patel. They believe that the all-rounder might return before the ODI World Cup.

“The team management wants to give Axar a full chance of recovery. His forearm and finger bruises have healed but maybe in another few days, he will get fit for the World Cup. India’s first match is on September 8 and hence there is time,” a BCCI source said ahead of the match.

“As far as Ashwin is concerned, we now know that he is match fit and in rhythm. If Axar can’t make it, Ashwin walks in,” told a BCCI source.

The final squad announcement will be done on September 27, and it is almost confirmed that Axar Patel is still the team management’s preferred pick for the backup spinner’s position over the experienced Tamil Nadu veteran. It is also worth noting that young batting sensation Shubhman Gill and bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur have been granted a few days of rest before the third ODI in Rajkot.
