Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has predicted the result of the 1st Test in India’s favor and he has named two players who will win the match for India in Nagpur. According to Harbhajan Singh, Team India can depend on spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja to win the first Test at Nagpur in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 very easily.
India won the four-match series 2-1 in 2020–21, making India the current Border–Gavaskar Trophy champions. India pulled a comeback even after initially losing the first Test at the Adelaide Oval. Australia’s Test cricket records in India haven’t been terrific. The Aussies won a series back in 2004 and this time as well it looks a bit tough for them to win a match.
The veteran spinner shared a video on his youtube channel and said, “I think Ashwin will pick the most wickets and Jadeja will also have some. These two spinners will get the job done. They have many left-handers, so Ashwin will probably start with the new ball. I think the spinners will win the match for India tomorrow.”
The Aswhin-Jadeja pair greatly impressed the former spinner on Day 1 of the first Test, and he claimed that with such a confident start to the series, particularly by this duo, it would undoubtedly be upon them to carry India home in the first Test. In the first innings, the spin twins grabbed 8 wickets.
Sir Ravindra Jadeja received extra appreciation from the former KKR spinner. The 34-year-old was brilliant in the first Test, showcasing his all-around abilities to perfection. According to Harbhajan, Jadeja actually laid out a blueprint for how to play Test cricket with this performance.
