IND vs AUS, 1st Test 2023: Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid Unhappy With The Nagpur Wicket, Ask For Changes

Before the first test of the four-match test series under Border-Gavaskar trophy, Indian captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid shown some kind of disinterest with the Nagpur pitch, the venue of first test naheen India and Australia.

Despite the widespread belief that Indian pitches offer spin-friendly surfaces, Rohit and Dravid were not too pleased with the pitch at Nagpur as it stands right now. Additionally, the Indian cricket management has asked to change the pitch after the head coach had the negotiations with the pitch curator to satisfy the needs of the host team.

According to a video posted by RevSportz, the stadium’s administration and groundskeepers have been working extra hard to construct a pitch that will be helpful to the Rohit Sharma-led team. According to rumours, Dravid has asked the VCA officials for “rank turners” for the first Test.

This series is too much into talks and before Dravid and Rohi, the former Australian pacer Jason Gillespie also gave his opinion on the Nagpur Pitch where he said it has been built according to host’s preference.

“I think the Indian curators are looking at a way for India to have an advantage. They potentially think spin will play a huge role and that for the best chance to beat Australia will be to play to their strength,” told Gillespie while speaking to SEN WA Breakfast.

This test series is a part of ICC Test Championship and this series will decide the fate of both the teams for the final of the event.
