Team India and England are set for a fierce battle for the fourth time in the series. Both teams are set to face each other on February 23 in Ranchi.
However, at the start of the fourth match of the series, England’s middle-order batter, Ollie Pope, said that he wouldn’t mind if the pitch in Ranchi started getting turned from the first day itself.
Before the fourth test, all three test matches played in Hyderabad, Rajkot, and Vishakapatnam were played on supporting wickets rather than on rank turners.
Pope has been one of the heroes for the visitors who won the opening game of the series. He feels that if the pitches offer more turns, that would also give them more chances to pick up wickets.
Pope used sweep shots in quite an effective manner, as he scored 196 in the opening test match of the series, which helped the visitors defeat the hosts by a margin of 28 runs.
Pope also emphasized playing sweep shots regularly to counter the threat of Jadeja, Ashwin, and Kuldeep turning wickets.
However, Pope also feels that India would also get a fourth spinner in their line-up as Jasprit Bumrah has been rested for the fourth test match of the series to manage workload.
However, as per reports, Bengal pacer Aakashdeep is in line to replace the ace pace bowler. Jasprit Bumrah had a phenomenal series with the ball, as the pacer picked 17 wickets in three test matches at an average of 13.65.
