ICC ODI Rankings: Australia Reclaims No.1 Spot, Rohit Sharma & Co. Remains In Top-5

Australian Cricket team has once again reclaimed the number one spot in the ICC ODI team ranking. After winning the second ODI against South Africa by 123 runs, the Aussies managed to get the top position.

Before beating South Africa by 123 runs in the first ODI, the visitors had a thrilling three-wicket win in the first ODI. These back-to-back victories have given them a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. It’s worth noting that this ranking change occurred shortly after Pakistan had claimed the No. 1 spot after the 3-0 series triumph against Afghanistan.

Babar Azam’s team has kept the momentum after their impressive ODI performance in the Asia Cup by securing victories against Nepal during the Group stages and Bangladesh in their Super Fours opener. Meanwhile, Team India has remained at the third position in the rankings, even after winning the series in the West Indies and defeating Nepal in the ongoing Asia Cup by 10 wickets.

All three teams are set to engage in several matches leading up to the World Cup. If India and Pakistan progress to the Asia Cup final, they could potentially face each other twice. Australia has three ODIs against South Africa before playing on a three-match series in India.

The first match of the ODI World Cup will be played between England and New Zealand on october 5 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahemdabad.
