‘I Want To Play Test Cricket For India’, Gujarat Titans Star Eager To Make His Comeback

The ODI World Cup 2023 is ahead and Indian Cricket Management is going through many changes in order to get the best squad for the upcoming marquee event.

In the heap of all the players, there is Avesh Khan who made it into international cricket after having an impressive IPL. However, the bowler has not got regular chances to play for the national side, sometimes with injury and sometimes due to the availability of promising players into the playing XI.

Avesh Khan missed the Asia Cup 2022 due to sickness and after his last ODI appearance against South Africa in October 2022, the bowler is yet to make his place in the team.

Now Avesh with all his efforts and hard work wants to get back into the team. He has expressed his desire to make a place in the longest format of the game which is Test Cricket. While talking to Indian Express, the fast bowler showed his disappointment after getting out of the team due to illness.

Avesh Khan said,“Twice I was ruled out because I was not feeling well. People might judge that on a few occasions I went expensive but in today’s cricket 6 out of ten times bowlers have a bad day. I’m not complaining or giving excuses but that’s the truth. Now I have forgotten everything; instead I’m living in the present. When selection happens it will happen. Performing is in my hand and selection is not. So I have stopped thinking about it.”

The bowler plays for Madhya Pradesh in the domestic season and he was one of the major reasons why Gujarat Titans won the IPL in 2022. In the ongoing Ranji Trophy matches, he has 36 wickets to his name in total 7 games.

Avesh Khan further added,“I have played for India with white ball but I want to represent the Indian Test team and for that I’m working hard. I knew I needed to step up for MP because how many times do we see a team trailing bouncing to win matches in Ranji Trophy. If I’m good I need to stand up and take the responsibility of taking my team through. It was a complete team effort and we played like a team today.”
