“I think we’ve decided not to….” Steve Smith Slandered Indian Team Before Border-Gavaskar Trophy

Former Australian skipper and swashbuckler Steve Smith is ready with his team to play in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. But before this prestigious trophy, the Australian team was thinking and trying all available plans to defeat the Indian team on the “Indian Pitches”.

In an interview, Smith said that we had made the right decision for training because they provide green pitches for training sessions but feature a turning wicket for the actual game.

“We’ll wait and see when we hit the ground. I think we’ve decided not to play a tour match. Like I said, last time they dished up a green top for us (in a tour game), and we barely faced any spin, so it’s irrelevant,” Smith quoted.

The Australian team have decided not to play a single tour game in India before the BGT Trophy. And they have been practising on the turning track in Sydney and will reach India a week before the first test match in Nagpur on 9th February.

“We normally have two tour games over in England. This time we don’t have a tour game in India. The last time we went to India, I’m sure we got a green top to practice on, which was irrelevant. Hopefully, we get really good training facilities where the ball is likely to do what it’s likely to do out in the middle, and we can get our practice in,” Smith said in a practice session.

Speaking on training session of the Kangaroos in home pitches. Smith added that it would help our spinner to get trained better. And also tried to replicate Indian conditions, and batters will perform better in the series.

“We’re better off having our nets and getting spinners in and bowling as much as they can. It’s the Test series in India. I don’t know if it’s winning in India, the final frontier. I’ve never won; I’ve been there twice for Tests, and playing there is always difficult. We’ve got some challenges in front of us, but the guys are ready for it,” Smith further added.
