Sunil Narine said not worrying and keeping it simple is his mantra in batting, which has helped him find success in batting at the top.
Narine said this jokingly after KKR’s skipper revealed that the Carabian legend missed the team meeting. Sunil Narine has been one of the major factors behind the success of KKR in this tournament.
Sunil Narine won his 14th Man of the Match award for his blitz at the top for KKR. The star batter scored 85 of just 39 deliveries, which included seven boundaries and seven sixes. Narine’s innings helped KKR post a mammoth total of 272-7, the second highest total in IPL history.
On being asked about his revival as KKR’s opener, Sunil Narine said, “Cricket is all about batting, so look to contribute more as a batter. That said, I still enjoy bowling.”
On being asked about skipping batters meeting, Sunil Narine said, “I have one role, and the less I know, the better it is for me.”
Sunil Narine has so far scored 134 runs in the IPL 2024 at a healthy strike rate of 204.
Speaking about Sunil Narine, Captain Shreyas Iyer said, “To be honest, he doesn’t sit in any of the team batters’ meetings. His role is pretty much clear.”
