“I just want to keep the….” RUTURAJ GAIKWAD Gives a huge statement after CSK beat KKR

After beating KKR CSK’s skipper, Ruturaj Gaikwad, said that he wants to keep the culture of CSK going that has been built by CSK’s former skipper, Ms. Dhoni.

Gaikwad’s leadership journey for CSK has been bittersweet, as he started his journey with two back-to-back wins against Bangaluru and Gujrat; however, he soon suffered two back-to-back defeats against Delhi and Hyderabad.

Speaking about the same, Gaikwad said, “I don’t want to be a specific kind of character. Just like to flow things as they’re flowing, keep the culture of the CSK basically going. That’s what I feel. The success we’ve had, the things we have been doing, I don’t want to change a single bit of it.”

Gaikwad further added, “I just want to come there, take my own decisions, and just give as much freedom as possible because that’s what has been happening since I joined CSK. Nothing really changes, and I’m enjoying myself.”

Gaikwad also said that he is focusing on maintaining a good culture at CSK rather than thinking of filling the huge shoes of Ms. Dhoni.

Gaikwad said, “To be honest, not really deep conversations, I feel [around captaincy with Dhoni]. It was in a very chilled state. Just one conversation, I would say. We were practicing, and he came and told me all this stuff. Obviously, for everyone, others on the outside, they would think they are big shoes to fill, but I feel I would always be myself, and I would like to continue the culture that has been going.”
