On Sunday, England won the T20 World Cup Trophy at Melbourne Cricket Ground by defeating Pakistan with 5 wickets. This is the second T20 title for the England team, first, they won in 2010 by defeating the Australian team, and the second title was clinched by them on Sunday.
The performance of the English team in the all-important final clash with Pakistan was really tough. While chasing the total English team struggled in front of Pakistani pace battery bowling but the total on the board was not enough to transfix the strong English batting side.
After the loss, the Pakistani skipper attended the press conference and spoke about the details of the game and also praised the overwhelming performance of Jos Buttler & co. He also thanked all the fans for supporting them despite of two consecutive losses in the start of the tournament against India and Zimbabwe.
“Congratulations to England, they deserve to be champions and fought well. We feel like home. They come and support us. Definitely, after the first two losses, they hurt us but the way the team came back after those defeats was incredible,” said Babar Azam.
Next question asked by a reporter referring to the 1992 World Cup that Imran khan told his teammates to play like a caged tiger. So, what was your advice to your teammates when you guys went to the final clash?
In reply, Babar said, “I just tried to pass the message that plays your natural game. We were 20 runs short, but the way we fought till the last over was unbelievable. Credit to the boys”.

In the end, Babar also talked about the bowling attack and also about Shaheen Shah Afridi who was injured in taking the catch of Harry Brooks in the 12th over. However, he came to bowl the 16th over but he left the field after bowling one delivery.
“Our bowling is one of the best attacks in the world. Unfortunately, Shaheen’s injury put us off, but that’s part of the game,” the Pakistani skipper added
