‘I Feel He Is Not A T20 Bowler’, Aakash Chopra Surprising Praise For This Indian Speedster

Former Indian opener and now a celebrated commentator, Aakash Chopra has talked about much about the Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna who is also coming to the side after an injury. Aakash said that he felt Krishna was not suitable for the T20 format, but he performed brilliantly in the first T20I against Ireland.

India restricted Ireland to 139/7 and Prasidh Krishna was the joint highest wicket taker of the side along with captain Jasprit Bumrah. Krishna ended his spell with two wickets at the expense of 32 runs in his quota of four overs.

While analysing the performance of Bumrah, Aakash Chopra said that he didn’t expect such a performance from Krishna but he did it with perfection.

Aakash Chopra said,”Two players were given their T20 cap – Rinku Singh and Prasidh Krishna made their debuts. It was slightly surprising that Prasidh hadn’t made his debut thus far. Apart from Bumrah, the second good story was Prasidh.”

The former Indian added,”Typically when I look at Prasidh Krishna, I feel he is not a T20 bowler. He is a bowler who bowls with good line and length, who will do extremely well in ODIs and Tests, but even for T20s, he has pace, the right basics, a fast yorker, the slower one is not that good but he can bowl that.”

Krishna’s initial wicket came as he had Harry Tector caught by Tilak Varma who was positioned at short third man. He outfoxed George Dockrell with additional bounce and Ruturaj Gaikwad took the catch at cover.
