“I don’t have that tolerance….” Wasim Akram Refused To Be Coach Of Pakistan, Know The Reason

Currently, the Pakistani cricket board is in the news because they have appointed Mickey Arthur, an online coach of their Pakistani cricket team. Former cricketers have been raising questions about this decision of the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Before this, former chief selector and skipper Shahid Afridi slammed the Pakistan cricket board for appointing only a foreign cricketer as the National team’s coach and ignoring their own country’s former players for the coaching role.

One of the important reasons behind this decision of the PCB is that the national team player’s and coaches’ behaviors weren’t good enough. The cricket fraternity was aware of this hatred and criticism between the coach and players.

In an interview, former Pakistani skipper Wasim Akram commonly known as the “sultan of swing,” was asked about the coaching role of the national team. Speaking on this, Wasim Akram said that he never thought of coaching the national team because of the criticism, ill-treatment, and hatred of the coach and captain.

“The abuse and sometimes hatred that captains and coaches have to face in our country, I don’t think I am ready for it. I don’t have that tolerance, especially regarding using social media. There are many people whose job is only to talk negatively.” Wasim Akram said in an interview with the media.

Akram added that he can accept criticism if the team is not doing well. However, the way the captain and coach are criticized and abused in Pakistan cricket is intolerable.
