Humiliating Records Scripted By Indian Team After Losing The Second ODI Against Australia

Indian batter had a very poor performance in Visakhapatnam ODI, due to which the team had to face a big defeat by 10 wickets. In this match, 5 Indian batsmen failed to touch double figures and lost all the 10 wickets in just 26 overs. After this match, the Indian team registered many embarrassing records on their name.

All the credit for Australia’s brilliant performance goes to the bowlers of the Australian team. Australian veteran pacer Mitchell Starc picked up 5 wickets. However, his teammates Sean Abbott got 3, and Nathan Ellis got 2 wickets.

Batting first, the Indian team got all out for 117 runs. With this, India has the third-lowest score in ODI cricket against Australia. India’s smallest score against Australia is 63 runs, while the second number is 100 runs.

In Visakhapatnam, the Indian team scored the fourth-lowest score at home. Earlier in 2017, India was all out for 112. India’s lowest score in this list is 78 runs which came against Sri Lanka.

India also registered a record defeat by 10 wickets for the sixth time in the ODI format of cricket. The men in blue lost by 10 wickets against New Zealand in 1981, West Indies in 1997, South Africa in 2000 and 2005, 2020 and now in 2023 against Australia.

Indian team has lost by 10 wickets 2-2 times against Australia and South Africa. India lost against Australia in yesterday’s match and in 2020, while in 2000 and 2005 against South Africa, the team had to face defeat by 10 wickets.

This is India’s second defeat by a margin of 10 wickets in ODIs under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. Earlier, this happened under the captaincy of Virat Kohli as well. Virat Kohli is the only Indian captain under whose captaincy the Indian team has faced defeat by 10 wickets in all three formats.
